The London No1 CSC AGm will take place 7pm, Thursday, 17th July this year.

NOVEMBER MEETING MOVED

The CSC November Meeting has been moved forward to 6pm, Tuesday 6th November.

Because of the Champions League game on Tuesday night we're moving the CSC meeting to 6pm, 6th November, before the Benfica televised game, which will be shown live after the meeting.

Well, no, they didn't, but whether we like it or not he's due to take over from Brian Quinn as Chairman of the club after the next AGM.

And in the interests of fairness I'd like to point to a valid argument as to why he is a good candidate for the post but all I can gather from the pro John Reid supporters is that we should all just accept him for what he is now and ignore his past, afterall football is big business these days and his combative style will be good for us in disputes with the SFA and UEFA. And anyway, lets all just get on with it and politics has no place in sport. Lets just stick to the issues that matter to us Glasgow football fans then, child abuse and religious issues. TELEVISION PROBLEMS

Apologies for the recent problems with the television for certain games.

We've remedied the problem but its best to call the bar before the match to make sure that the game is on.

WEBSITE FIXED

The technical and administration problems that we encountered recently have been resolved and the website has been updated and put back live.

Sorry for any inconvenience over the past couple of weeks, normal service resumes.

SPARTAK GAME at the LONDON NO.1

Setanta have just announced that they'll be showing the Champions League 3rd Rd qualifier at 5pm on Wednesday.

We'll have it live at the London No.1 CSC.

Due to overcrowding in previous seasons, and rising costs of broadcasting games, entry to the back room is £2.00 for non-members (free for members). Membership forms will be available, £10 membership guarantees FREE entry to all live televised Celtic games all season.

The costs of broadcasting games is also a major issue and since a large chunk of the broadcasting costs are paid for by the club its only fair that those that wish to take advantage of the atmosphere at the club are willing to contribute.

And for the sake of £2.00 (in one of the cheaper pubs in London:) we think that's a fair request.

Hopefully many people will take advantage of membership at the club and guarantee FREE entry to ALL televised games and help to preserve the unique atmosphere that watching Celtic at the most established CSC in London has to offer.

AGM News

The AGM for the London No1 CSC took place last night, 11th July.

Here's a brief overview of the news.

The committee remains the same as last year, with the exception of Louise who is stepping down from her role as Club secretary. We thank Louise for all her hard work over the past few years. (Please send your membership forms to Mary McLaughlin whose details can be found on the membership form)

The club will be charging non-members a small nominal fee (£2) for European and other major games at the club to gain access to the backroom. Membership is still £10 and will be available on the door; as a member you will see all games for free. This is so that members can get watch the games in relative comfort, overcrowding in the back room was becoming a major problem.

There will be Celtic music after all major games at the club, this proved to be a great success last season.

The first Celtic Disco will be after the QPR game. Come back to the club after the game and enjoy the atmosphere.

Raffles will be held at all major games We look forward to another great season both on and off the pitch for 07/08. See you at the London No1 CSC soon.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

During a recent committee meeting some topics of discussion were brought up regards the running of the club and ideas to bring forward into the new 2007-08 season.

Due to the success and popularity of the music DJs after bigger live weekend games we shall be repeating this for the coming season, starting with the after game event at the club after the QPR game on the 15th July.

Club T-Shirts and Badges will be available at the AGM. Please see a member of the committee for sizes and prices.

Plans are afoot for a celebration for the London No1 CSC's 40th anniversary. We're currently gathering information about the history of the club. The form of celebrations has yet to be decided but expect a big night out and possibly a 5-a-side tournament. To help us celebrate and gather information we'd like to ask any ex-members if they would like to contact the club to help fill in some of the gaps in the club's history. If you're an ex-member or you know of any please get in touch by sending an email to: john.shields@gmail.com.

The TV screens that were faulty at the end of last season will be fixed for the start of the new season. There will also be an extra TV in the back bar to make viewing a bit easier for the big games.

Raffles will be held during all European games and major live games at the club. Committee members will be responsible for the organising of the raffles on a rota basis.

It was proposed that non-members pay for entry for European games, and some other major live games shown in the back room at The Cock Tavern. This is likely to be a nominal fee but is seen as necessary as overcrowding is making viewing for all difficult. It is fairly common practice amongst some other London CSC's to charge for live TV games, and is really the only way that we can guarantee that members get to see the games at their own club. Be assured that all members will be able to see all games for free so sure you get your membership at the AGM which will automatically guarantee you FREE entry to ALL the games shown at The London No1 CSC. Please come along to the AGM to voice an opinion on the issues that matter to you and your club on the 11th. Regards, The Committee.
